Five pairs of twins have been world champions

Having a family member who is a boxer and who becomes a world champion is undoubtedly a great satisfaction, but having twins, both of whom are dedicated to boxing and both of whom win a world title is something out of the ordinary and that leaves a precedent in the history of professional boxing.

Having a family member who is a boxer and who becomes a world champion is undoubtedly a great satisfaction, but having twins, both of whom are dedicated to boxing and both of whom win a world title is something out of the ordinary and that leaves a precedent in the history of professional boxing.

This unusual event has occurred, to date on just five occasions, twins and world champions at the same time.

The first brothers to achieve this feat were the Thai Khaosai and Khaokor Galaxy. Born on May 15, 1959 in Bangkok, they made Thai boxing history: Khaosai Galaxy was WBA super flyweight champion and Khaokor Galaxy, WBA bantamweight champion.

Thai boxing returned to have its mirror effect with the twins Chana and Songkram Porpaoin, born on March 25, 1966, in Petchaboon. Chana was a two-time WBA strawweight champion and Songkram was also a WBA strawweight champion.

With so much tradition and boxing baggage, Mexican boxing could not be left behind and it was the Baja Californian twins Raúl and Ramón García Hirales, born on September 10, 1980.

Raúl Rayito García Hirales, was IBF and WBO light flyweight champion. Ramón Príncipe García Hirales, WBO light flyweight leader.WBO.

The fourth world champion twins were born in the United States of America on May 19, 1990, they are the brothers Jermall and Jermell Charlo.

Jermall Charlo is the former IBF junior middleweight champion and is the current WBC middleweight champion and Jermell is the WBC junior middleweight champion.

And the fifth and most recent pair of world champion twins saw the first light on February 15, 1989, in Managua, Nicaragua: Félix and Rene and Alvarado.

Felix Gemelo Alvarado is the current minimal IBF monarch; while René Gemelo Alvarado, is the superfluous monarch of the WBA, that is to say six divisions above and ten kilograms more weight.eso.

Thus, the mirror effect in the world, has only decided to be in four countries.
