On August 29, 1981, in Villahermosa, Tabasco, he defeated Gilberto Morales by technical knockout in seven rounds.

Won The World Title
He won the WBC super flyweight world belt three times. The first of them was on March 30, 1986, in Hyogo, Japan, when he defeated the local Jiro Watanabe by unanimous decision. The second on April 8, 1988 against Jesús"Sugar Baby"Rojas and the third on July 9, 1988, in Saitama, Japan, when he defeated the local Yoshiyuki Uchida by technical knockout in five rounds.

Lost His Title
In the seventh defense, on May 16, 1987 Reims, Marne, France, against the Argentine Santos Benigno Laciar, who technically knocked him out in 11 rounds. In a second period as he was stripped of the scepter after testing positive for marijuana in the anti-doping control corresponding to his meeting with the Colombian Jesús Rojas, on April 8, 1988. In his third period as WBC super flyweight monarch, he lost the crown in the sixth defense against the African Nana Konadu, in the Mexico arena, who shot him five times and defeated him by wide unanimous decision

Withdrawal
On June 9, 1990 in Seoul, South Korea, local Sung-Kil Moon knocked him out in eight rounds.
