The second time he was champion, he did it in a big way, because on February 7, 1997, in Las Vegas, he knocked out Oliver McCall in five rounds and kept the belts endorsed by the WBC, the WBA and the IBF. On November 13, 1999, in Las Vegas, he defeated Evander Holyfield by unanimous decision and took the WBC, WBA and IBF titles from him. While on November 17, 2001, in Las Vegas, he knocked out Hasim Rahman in four rounds and took away the IBF and WBC titles, as well as the unknown International Boxing Organization

Lost His Title
In his third defense, on September 24, 1994, at Wembley, Oliver McCall knocked him out in two rounds. On April 22, 2001, in South Africa, Hasim Rahman effectively knocked him out in five rounds and took the WBC, IBF and International Boxing Organization belts from him.

Withdrawal
He retired as WBC and International Boxing Organization champion on June 21, 2003, in Los Angeles, where he retained his titles by defeating Vitali Klitschko by technical knockout in six rounds.
